I don't understand any of this mtb chat. Back in my day it hard tail only, you were lucky to get 2inch of travel on stock forks, we had to make our own winter tyres and people who rode Downhill (ie took the ski lift to the top) were looked at like a combination electronic-shifting-for-my-commuter and untrustworthy punkass slvlss types.
I hope you people show me How Times Have Changed.
