Through Bishops park after Putney Bridge, then along the back streets past River Cafe, then along the river bank - pops out at Hammersmith Roundabout. Don't think there's any way of avoiding that. Then you can go up Brook Green and down the back streets but I could never be arsed.

When I go that way I go onto Fulham Palace Road from Chacellor's Road rather than dice with dogwalkers on the river bank, it's usually an easy left turn into an empty bus lane.

Cheers, I tried this out and it was a pleasant change. Hammersmith RBT itself isn't too bad I find, it's the slow filtering along queues of traffic that kills any fun.

anyone know any decent (i.e. quiet, civilised) routes between Wandsworth Town and Shepherds Bush? Traffic through Fulham and Hammersmith at rush hour is tedious. Don't mind if it's not the quickest.
