Does it blend?

Who knows... One of those mysteries never to be solved.

How can I get it to give me silent notification? I don't really need it to buzz if it's locked. Just show a preview.
On the iphone you can customise notifications for each app to a good degree, please say I can do this?

Do you want global silent notifications? Or for specific apps? You should be able to turn off vibration in an apps notification setting, or put it globally into silent mode by holding down the volume button. Otherwise an app like lightflow gives you more fine grained options
-
• #16681
You can. Depends on the device, but normally it's in the Settings app.

I always have my phone on global silent. Found that under notifications then apps, howver I can set different things like no vibrate or so. I'd like it to give me silent notifications for certain app just in the background but then vibrate on others and then some make noise. Depending if I care about the importance of the app. Person allocation notification levels would be cool. Guess you can use priority.
Maybe I need to try that app.
Thanks @andyp too

Anyone know what the update last night on the Nexus 5 was for? Can't seem to find any information on it.
-
• #16684
Didn't Google to commit to more frequent security updates. Assume it's that.
Can't install it though as auto update and twrp don't go together.

Is anybody interested in a OP2 invite? Got three after my recent purchase and they're valid until the 18TH

As Aggi said, Google should be updating Nexus devices once a month with security patches.

New phone for the girlfriend - Moto G 16GB or OnePlus X?
Similar price, OPX has mad specs for the price, but my experience with Motorola aftercare has been good and I've only heard awful things about the OnePlus customer service...
Anyone had a hands on with both and are able to comment? -

Trying to buy a Nexus 5x in the states is a real ballache.
No stores selling it so you have to buy online.
You have to have a Google account to buy but if you sign in with your actual Google account it puts you back to the UK store.
To set up a new account you have to verify the account with a mobile number, you can't use the number that's associated with another account ...

you also need a US credit card, and the CC address must match the delivery address
-
• #16691
Balls to that then. Feels a bit of a rip off when buying in the US is £100 cheaper than the UK.
Will maybe look at the moto x style (pure) if I can find a shop selling the 32GB version.

I smashed my moto x. Purchased a nexus 6p to replace it.
Is nice.
Like seriously nice. But it really doesn't fit in a pocket and if someone could've just made this phone but smaller I would have been so happy.

has anyone tried the Android DECT home phones? the only ones that I can find are running KitKat, with no software updates, and I'd rather have something more recent.
Tempted by them for allowing the little one to use hangouts with grandparents, and controlling music around the house.

I got the One PLus X for my g/f and she loves it. Amazing for the price. I also have the ONe Plus Two which is good.
There is definately an element of crossing your fingers and hoping all is well because the customer service is meant to be bad. But I havent had to deal with them so I`m happy

You just need bigger pockets.

• #16696
or a Murtle pouch?!
-
• #16697
so as weird as this sounds, I just noticed the new Levis 505's I bought have deeper pockets than a pair I bought a year ago. 6P fits ok in them.
-
• #16698
Why didn't you get the 5x?
-

I imagine that no-one has yet tried this (I'm not sure if the phones exist yet) but does anyone know about the using SD cards as internal storage?
Looking at a Moto X Pure but can only get a 16GB version. It appears that under Marshmallow you can use an SD card as internal storage for apps, etc but it's not clear what impact this has on performance.

Used to be done all the time when phones came with 512 mb of ROM (or less). Generally works okay, but depends on the app. (#CSB)
Also, just looking it up, it forces you to use the SD card only for memory, so you'd be stuck with everything running off that which would end up being a PITA I'd imagine
Got it today. Will be keeping it. It has features I want the 6P doesn't, the finger scanner on the back would have been nice though.
Guess I need to get whatsapp too, always used imessage till now.
Good phone. Works just sweet. 64gb sd card in it for ma music.
No not drop testing.
