80km round the Black Forest on Saturday:
Followed by going to see Stereophonics in Basel.
Then a quick 30km on Sunday morning around the French Alsace before heading over to Grenchen to watch the European Track Championships.
Red-eye back to Blighty this morning. Now totally knackered.

Your ride photos help to remind me that riding a bike can be a really fun thing to do :-)

Got cheered by a load of people stood by the ice cream van at High Beach while trackstanding in a mini traffic jam because some lady in the queue noticed me doing it and was all like 'OOOH LOOK CAN HE KEEP IT GOING' then 'OOOH WELL DONE!!' when the traffic cleared.
Made me feel special even though I was riding fixed (so it was easy) and not going very far or very fast. Lovely day out there too.

Spending the next couple of months in Smallfurry-land. Less daylight means shorter rides.
Trying to compensate by finding routes with plenty of elevation.

Exactly what I'm doing.
My last outdoor ride was 7 repeats of the same hill last wednesday. Its a pain.
20C yesterday. But gale force winds. So not overly upset that having the kids staying means turb time only.
PS.
Nice Bike ;) -

It was a pretty nice Monday morning at the office. And I get to go out for a 3rd shift in the afternoon golden hour, yay!

40-odd miles around the North of London this week-end. I originally planned to do more but somehow a party got in the way. Still, hills, wind and a brilliant weather all along!

Not just the weekend, but a 3 day ride round Holland. Hoek Van Holland - Amsterdam - Utrecht and back to the Hoek.
Great place to ride, and great weather except for 20km into the driving rain on the last stretch. -

40 wet miles around York on Sunday then 25 miles of chainganging in 20mph wind at the Cycle circuit last night. I was massively glad to have joined a club recently, as Sunday wouldn't have happened if I hadn't had people to ride with.

45 miles of rainy club run today. First rainy day in the Gabba and it was brilliant. Merino base layer underneath, finished the dry pretty much dry. The last 4 miles of driving rain started to get in, but the previous 41 of drizzle didn't touch me. Best purchase.
Just not sure going out in all black was a good idea today, particularly as my front light died half way round. Few close passes from all the Audis and BMWs around the posher parts of North Yorkshire.

Also managed to dent the top tube of my Argos 853 after leaving it propped up in the hallway while I got dry clothes on. Son pulled it over and it hit the door frame, luckily he managed to avoid it. It's still rideable but FUUUUCK.
Went to CAST (Center for Applied Science and Technology) with a friend to see where Home Office best nerds were working. Lots of barbwire and CCTVs as you would expect. All in all, nice 56 miles loop from Camden to the countryside and back!
The Rose And Crown at Sanbridge is a rather nice pub too. Best fat fries I've eaten so far.
