  • I'd take a trip to Wellingborough and have a demo. I was originally looking at the Expobar Leva but went with the Profitec that Steve mentioned.

The Eureka on-demand grinders are really impressive.

  • for a grinder what would you suggest?

  • Gotta be a Eureka 65E or a Compak if you're upgrading from the Rocky. Don't order anything straight off the website, make sure you call Marko first.

  • Any reccos for coffee places in New York? Williamsburg/lower east side

  • Variety on Graham Ave in Wburg.

  • Absolutely loads of great places in Williamsburg (as you would expect). Two good ones near us were Toby's Estate Coffee and Blue Bottle Coffee. Both owned by Aussies if I recall.

  • I'm in India with work and really struggling to get a decent coffee. I'd assumed I would be able to get good coffee everywhere but haven't had a half drinkable cup yet.

  • Where abouts? In the early days of this thread you can read about my pain trying to find some that didn't involve margarine as an ingredient.

I sucked it up in India and started drinking tea, though I was able to find good aussie style espresso in New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata which, for a country of 1.2 billion people isn't bad.

  • Give me a solid italian espresso over the gimmicky burnt caramel tasting coffee of today's UK hipster coffee shops.

    discuss.

  • I will discuss!

I have and will likely continue to prefer filters rather than espresso of any variety.
You can't go far wrong with a litre of black french press a day.

  • As a hipster making shit hipster coffee who has never been to Italy because I'm scared of foreign lands without flat whites and Anzac cookies and Future Islands playing in wooden-countered hipster cafes I don't think I can comment.

  • Everything has its place. Although IMO owt dark enough to need Sugar adding should be the drink of last resort.

Had a very light bright Espresso by North Star the other day at Ccmcr, was good.

Otherwise slightly darker espresso from Man Co Co at home as it is more consistent in the classic.

  • Everything has it's place

Including that apostrophe, which is elsewhere.

  • Thanks, edited.

  • SHUT IT.

It is a litre of french press and the occasional americano.

  • Anyone fancy a melitta pour over 1 x 4, I think, takes number 4 filters. Can knock them out at £4 a go. Can add a few paper filters to start you off.

when I come home after new year.

  • Might make a litre of french press this morning. Is always a good start to the day. Italian beans mind.

  • I'm in Kochi in Kerala

Silva and an MC2 with loads of extra stuff for £300

  • Best place to buy beans near Stratford international?

  • Everpure BW400:

Free if you come and get it from SE23, never been used.

  • Half life is 6 hours (approx), amount of caffeine per drink is variable (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0278691507000762) .

  • Good to hear @Vince, hope the grinder and gaggia combo is still going strong

  • Any of you aeropress paper filter deniers want to give me your old pack? Nearly through mine which pleasingly means I've nearly had 350 coffees out of it.
