  • AZFS22C finis is 3966269. It is a special order part through Ford from the US. All Ford dealers can source US parts but I think most parts counters can't be bothered to do it.

    Might be worth trying http://www.finisfinder.co.uk

What car are they for? Why not use NGK plugs?

  • It's for a 2002 2.0L Zetec Focus (DOHC), I'm doing one of my annual engine bay sweeps and checking hoses, cables, plugs etc. All the Americans reckon for the 2.0L (known there as a ZX3 and in Australia as an LR Zetec) that the AZFS22C which is used in forced induction applications is just as suitable in N/A applications, gapped to 0.06" and with upgraded HT leads. The plug itself is one step colder than stock plugs. It's a copper electrode, so there is no NGK/Champion equivalent as all other manufacturers use Iridium or something else.

Given that it's touted on the American forums as one of the cheapest mods ($8!!) to improve idle and engine smoothness I thought I might get in on it. Turns out it's not as easy as I thought being outside of USA!

Got any other ideas? Just stick to a stock single prong good quality plug?

  • Just had a quick google and it seems these plugs are something quite special. I would try ordering them through Ford or maybe just order them online from the US?

Maybe you could use the standard plugs from a Mk1 Focus RS?
