What do you think would happen when I call the insurance company and say "engine? It's a 426 Hemi hi-comp"
-
• #25280
You luckeee, luckeee barstad :) which one?
-
• #25281
Not entirely sure just yet. My old man spotted it as he drove past it.
I shall make some enquiries and report back. Apparently it doesn't look like it's moved for years.

Much the same as when you say, 505 max wedge, Indy heads. They don't have a clue....

• #25283
Cool. There's a nice blue one on eBay at the moment.

New Malden! Ha.
A couple of those chevys live on a drive way in Ewell.
The bike shop in Surbiton have a beautiful old Ford pickup and race liveried Charger.
Plus a Burgundy 2002 lives on the road parallel to mine...
Will try and get a pic sometime never.

Anyone rented a minibus before? I'm doing the Etapes in the Alps next summer and we're trying to figure out travel. There could be 6/7 of us and we're thinking that it might be cheaper (or not much more expensive, but far more convenient) than flying to just book a minibus.
Do you need a special licence for one that big?
-
• #25287
Depends on what license you have. You need d1 category https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-categories
It was standard until late nineties I think.
-
• #25288
Hmm. I passed in ~2000 or so and don't have it. So I may have to take a different test? Despite having full motorbike and car licence already? That might put an end to that idea...

My dad had a silver one of these. Mad machine, espesh in RWD mode.

More than 9 seats (used or not) bumps a catagory so you'll see you can get full size or midi sized mini bus, thats why.
Think you can go from regular 2001> car license to 9 seat mini bus on a D1 only, might need to check that though!

That's a Pajero. Which is basically Spanish for "wanker".
-
• #25292
Paul - have you seen the red manual 928 on eBay?
-
• #25293
It's the only manual on there currently.
Not a fan of the colour though.
-
• #25294
It's a Pajero Evolution which means it's a homologation special 2500 build to circumnavigate the 'stock car' rules of Paris Dakar ..
-
• #25295
Homologized wanker then?
-
• #25296
Apparently so...

Any Subaru fans on here?
I'm looking to replace my S3 with a Forester turbo, going to look at this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2009-Subaru-Forester-2-5-blk-lth-XTEn-/281810473241?hash=item419d369119:g:16EAAOSwQTVWBmtE on Saturday.
Anything to be aware of with these? I know the colour is an acquired taste but it's going to be a (fast-ish) family car.
-
• #25298
see if you can find an STi one for the lols :)
They are great - like an Impreza on stilts :)
-
• #25299
I don't want to travel too far and my better half would hate the STI version. Too lairy.
I want to tune this to around 280 bhp and release a little bit of burble but it's going to be any everyday car.

I thought I wanted one as the family car, but drove one and it was 100% meh.
We got the 2.5 S-max, remapped it to 260bhp. It was toplel. Wish we still had it.
71 was a good year.
