I noticed last night that TRP had changed their site to add a disclaimer to their pages for both the Hylex calipers and replacement pads saying that they work well in the dry but might wear quickly in wet or muddy conditions. Seems obvious to me but whatever.

Have you a link to the pads you bought Tim?
I'm using the HR/RD's which I suspect will have the same rubbish-in-the-wet pads as your brakes.

The stock TRP pads are organic - basically resin pads. They work fine in the wet - they just don't like wet + sand. Its the grit and sand that causes them to wear quickly. All resin pads behave this way.
If you are worried about wear sintered metallic pads are better but have their own drawbacks.

Soul, could I ask you to measure the stack on your frame and tell us the manufacturers stated size?
I am just about to buy one, but the short headtube has me wondering if I will fit it. And flyxii does not publish stack.

Stack is BB to effective top tube, right?

Not quite, stack is centre of bb to the height of the top of the head tube.

I replaced the rotors w/ Shimano Ice-Tech and pads w/ Shimano resin ones and it runs beautifully quiet now.
Did exactly the same as you, the Shimano rotor wasn't a necessity as it's the pads (TRP HY/RD + Spyres) that's the main issues.

So I've given in and routed the troublesome rear brake cable underneath the rear stay instead of internally. In a brief test, it felt much nicer...

This has had a bit of an update recently... changed saddle back to the "classic" Arione (from the R7) and changed the tyres to Marathon Supreme 32c's.
Much more comfortable and enjoyable to ride now and also in full black stealth mode.

Yup. Routed the rear brake cable internally to the bottom bracket then mummified it to the bottom of the chain stay and on to the caliper.

Very well. Not used it in about 2 months as I've been travelling a lot but the frame etc and all components are faultless.
It's silent now i've greased the splines in the seatpost.

5 or 6 months ago.
N-1 as I got rid of the BMC. Put the di2 on so changed the brakes too (Hy/Rd now). Hylex were great though...

Sorry. They're not even in the parts box any more. Posted them to a guy in Sweden I think...
The hoods were pretty long but not uncomfortable. Would probably recommend knocking 10mm off your normal stem length to compensate.

It's more to do with the girth, rather than the length. Will have to try and find some elsewhere.

They're quite thin and more rounded.... not as flat a profile as the 6800 Di2 that are on there now.
