Hmm yea I had an Alhonga on a bike in Germany as emergency while I tried to fix the original.
Plan B, is this the best price for a tension spring?
The brakes themselves seem okay, they just don't return. Maybe I can replace the terrible old springs and get more life rather than replace.

I found some metal cap style ones that will hopefully work, grey so will look ugly but whatever they are going on the Vomit Inducer Extreme 4000™

It is possible to swap the bolt on the alhongas for the shorter allen nutted one if they're the only ones you can find. I've been running mine that way for about 7 years now. Pair them with decent bads and they are OK, just.

I'm trying to source some copper Motorcraft spark plugs...part number is AZFS22C-F4 (the F4 means pack of four). Unfortunately apparently they're only available in America readily. Have these had a part number change in the last couple of years, or just discontinued, or just MURICA supply chain unavailability?

Will my old Dolan PC have enough clearance for me to fit 25mm Marathon+ to it?
-
• #72133
On the rear 35mm will fit in the end of the dropouts, what fork are you on?
-
• #72134
Thats good to know, thanks.
Its on whatever the Alpina road fork shipped with the PC 5 or so years ago. I think the biggest constraint on the front will be the brake...I should think 25mm will be fine but I doubt I can go bigger than that.
Cheers.

I have an Odyssey 2000 BMX brake on the rear of one of my R20s. They have a very long drop / good clearance for mudguards (not that I run any at the moment).
EDIT: The 1999s were listed by Sheldon as a long-drop caliper upgrade for 3-speed folders also - http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/brake-calipers.html

Try phoning the Green Spark Plug Company - they were very helpful when I was looking for an obscure motorbike plug.

Although your part isn't listed on their site, they might be able answer your question or suggest an alternative? -

Daruma bolt

If you're going to use it to hang a fender under a fork crown a stainless eye bolt will do just as well.

Sadly not, it's to fix a light to a rack strut. Beginning to think that making an extension/arm that attaches to the existing fitting might be the cheapest option.

Right, Velo Orange (you haz supplier out there?) can help you.

Depends on wire diameter used for rack of course.

I see, any way you could span a flat piece of alu or steel across two struts in order to provide a stable flat area onto which you could affix the light?
-
• #72144
Possibly, will need to check how much room there internally between the strut and tyre/guards then go rummage for some scrap strips of stainless...
-
• #72145
Answering my own question a little... SJS have confirmed these struts are 7.5mm, now I just need to re-measure the Nitto to see how close they are...

Suitable size P clip? It's only holding a lamp, depending on lamp style you might not need the extension to push it away from the strut.

Jubilee clips are the bodge/backup plan!

Thanks a lot. I'll have a look!

Saddlebag replacement time - any experience of the Arundel Uno? It just needs to holw 1 tube, 1 lever, 1 small multitool, and a small patch kit.
-
• #72150
No experience. Surprisingly, the Lidl one I bought has been best. I chucked the tools and stuff, but it holds the multitool, inner tube, etc fine.
Similar design to that Arundel is this Kuota one, on the auction site. I was going to buy one a few months ago until I forgot. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kuota-Saddle-Bag-/181909085736?hash=item2a5aa05e28:g:kyUAAOSw5VFWJ2jS
I've used alhongas before, they were tolerable for a beater.
Tektro do a version which has Allen key recessed but fitting if that is what you need (the alhonga are traditional none recessed nuts).
