I've used alhongas before, they were tolerable for a beater.
Tektro do a version which has Allen key recessed but fitting if that is what you need (the alhonga are traditional none recessed nuts).
It is possible to swap the bolt on the alhongas for the shorter allen nutted one if they're the only ones you can find. I've been running mine that way for about 7 years now. Pair them with decent bads and they are OK, just.
