Shifting on left, a German thing, AFAIK.
Aren't the brakes reversed on UK bikes as well? Compared to EU.
Looking back at the bike, the front brake lever and rear mech gear shifter are on the same side, so that is odd indeed.
Doesn't really explain it as fundamentally the shifting is always on the same side.
You never see a manufacturer selling left hand rear shifter.
