I didn't try it on the road but I would say gabba is more then a jersey.
If it's only for commute, it wouldn't bother. but just take gore tex outdoor jacket. -

Got the Vermarc Aqua Zero jersey, seems very nice, water resistant pockets with a flap and top zip.
The collar is a little lower than the gabba, so more rain might get in, but other than that seems a great alternative for quite a bit cheaper. -

Anyone tried this?

The featured review seems very favourable (obviously), and apparently the waterproofing stands up well to machine washing.

Anyone got a Sanremo 2 thermosuit? I might be able to get one half price so considering it.
How warm/weatherproof is it? -

SS Gabba bought off eBay new at £80 with the 20% CUKFLASH code.
I think the code is only supposed to be valid till 10pm today, but still working when I bought at 10:30pm ish. -

Anyone interested, I have a completely new unused long sleeve Gabba 2 for sale in classifieds, £120. Need to get rid of it!

SS Gabba had its first outing today in the rain. Combined with Castelli no rain shorts. Fonzerelli thumbs up!

I have a Gabba 1. Honestly one of the best purchases I have ever made after getting bibs for the first time a few years ago
Three Sheds (of Norths) has a Gabba 2.
The Gabba 2 has wider 'vent' zips on the front (for those that fear they run hot) and a nicer (more comfortable/enhanced design) collar.
The tail sometimes gets caught on the saddle, but you kind of adapt quite quickly. As with all Castelli, size up 2 sizes!

I don't get this whole size up thing, I have a small Gabba and it is the same size as my small Rapha jerseys. I bought the size that matched my measurements in the size chart. Mavic is the brand where I had to size up!
-
• #113
me neither. It is not a something you want flapping. Im large in clothing in general (181cm 75kg) and Large castelli is ok for me.
-
• #114
Castelli jerseys fit true to size for me, it's their bib shorts that you need to be careful with sizing.
-
• #115
^ this. The tops are pretty much spot on but I have one pair of bibs that leave marks, they are so tight, and another set in the same size which are almost too big. A bit of a lottery really.
-
• #116
Yeah. Weirdo sizing on bibs accross the range - some fit really well others give me terrible saddle sores. I've even got nano shorts and nano tights - the fit is completely different between the two. Go figure..

I've got a pair of low tier castelli bibs and they are quite ok size @ large. Bad chamois though compared to rapha so havent really used them lately.
pro line might be slimmer? although pros have larger legs..

I find with the cheaper ones, that it isn't so much the pad which is the problem- it's the stitching on the pad.
-

The shoulders of castelli tops aren't overly forgiving.
It's a bit down to build I guess.

Anyone tried this fake gabb0r looking jersey?

What are people wearing under a Gabba now it is getting colder? I have been wearing a short sleeve base layer under a long sleeve Gabba, which is perfect most of the time, but if rain persists my arms freeze.
-

I've been wearing a long sleeve merino base layer.
The Gabba I have is old and fucked. So not very water repellent. Still slows water enough to allow the woolen base layer to do its job. So I'm wet but warm.
Went out on Sunday in just a string t-shirt With the gabba as it was dry. Worked brilliantly provided I kept working.

RE Castelli sizing - I'm a medium in everything. Except Castelli. I use size L for their standard bibs and Nano tights and large jerseys and Gabba. Arms are a touch long but my shoulders and chest can't fit into the small. Really is down to build. Temp wise, I have not had need for Gabba yet. but when it gets cold a thin base layer is usually fine as long as you're moving.

Nikwash Techwash + reproofer will sort it out.

Done this.
Although I over filled the machine. Maybe it'll take next time.
Chuck the kids on the back of a 35kg long bike, and hit some epic 2% hills.
If they complain about low speed. Demonstrate the important of low weight by dumping them by the side if the road.
At least that's what I do.
