  • Good point, you're not tribal, just trivial

  • I can't believe Lucifer just called Clive a closet scouser.

  • fuck that hurts.

  • Very good read. Not just one for the bog either.

  • did you realise Clive is a conspiracy theory loony?

  • Wondering whether the kicking Arsenal got from Bayern last night means they'll give us a kicking on the weekend. Also is losing to Bayern 5-1 such a confidence crusher, they've done it sides before and will do it again, but is the psyche of the Arsenal team so fragile, that all the confidence they've built up this season evaporates?

Strokes beard and contemplates the matter...

  • Great read. It's not all tribal. There is some shared kinship between football fans. I posted this letter in my response to Clive's outburst to show there is some love between fans of the beautiful game.

  • North London Derby film, from two season ago, lots of strong words, hatred seems to be used far too often, but tribalism will do that to you, predominantly from the Spurs point of view, but some Arsenal voices as a counterpoint..

Not a fan of the presenter either, but hey ho..

  • The North London Derby = El Latteco.

  • The biggest derby in the premiership? Lol

  • Pretty sure that's accurate Mike. At least for the premiership years.

History is just that. If the scouse clubs start winning trophies again than no doubt their global fan base will increase. Alas, it's a very big IF.

  • Independent Fabrications?

  • @b&d If only.

  • North London Derby = Baldmencombio

  • quick thought and this is probably never going to happen, so is probably destined to happen, but if Arsenal get knocked out of the CL group stages and get parachuted into the EL knockout stages, what would be the odds on Spurs facing them?

Oh Christ if we beat them in that situation, I think my head would explode... It'd be bigger than that El Clasico in the Champions League a few seasons back..

  • quick thought and this is probably never going to happen, so is probably destined to happen, but if Arsenal get knocked out of the CL group stages and get parachuted into the EL knockout stages, what would be the odds on Spurs facing them?

Spurs have to come first or second yet but if they did, and Arsenal finished 3rd in their CL group then...

    From: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015%E2%80%9316_UEFA_Europa_League

In the draw for the round of 32, the twelve group winners and the four third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage with the better group records are seeded, and the twelve group runners-up and the other four third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage are unseeded. The seeded teams are drawn against the unseeded teams, with the seeded teams hosting the second leg. Teams from the same group or the same association cannot be drawn against each other.
In the draw for the round of 16, the procedure will be confirmed prior to the draw.
In the draws for the quarter-finals onwards, there are no seedings, and teams from the same group or the same association can be drawn against each other.

So they can't play each other in the round of 32 or (by the looks of it) the round of 16, but they can definitely play against each other from the QF onwards.

If they're both there at the QF stage then there's a 1 in 7 chance that they'll play against each other and 1 in 3 for playing against each other in the Semis.

If they relax the rules for the round of 16 then it's a 1 in 15 chance they'll play against each other then.

  • TL;DR?

That'll be no fucking chance then.

  • If Arsenal go into the Europa League I trust they'll throw their first game and get out as soon as possible.

  • They're doing a fantastic job of that in the CL.

  • not bad. That would be the Tyne Wear derby though...

  • It's so they can concentrate on the serious business of retaining the FA cup...

  • Steel City derby shurely?

  • Or Merseyside.

  • Wondering when the carousel will give Chris Ramsay and Chris Powell another chance in the big seat...

  • Arsenal were never promoted to the old first division...How can it be the biggest?
