  • A friend quite rates the nextie carbon rims. Can also be used tubeless.

  • This place sells Weinmann DHL80 and DHL100 rims in various colourways and also completely undrilled if you want a project.

    Matte black DHL80 36H is 42EUR

  • Don't really fancy drilling again. Took ages.
Although that's because I thought more speed = faster. When in fact more speed = hotter

    Cheers for the link.

Not sure I can budget nextie. I'm spanking all my money on the felt road bike currently.

Just want a functional bead hook. The GFS rims are truly awful in that respect.

  • Gear ratio looks useless off road.

  • You really want low ratios for proper fat bike use age.

    I have 31T : 11-36T

  • Looking at getting a pair of Bud, and Lou tyres. Should just fit. So glade i went with rocker drop outs. Looks like I need the extra clearance relative to BFLs.

But I can't run the low pressures I want on my current rims as the bead hook is too crap.

As it's 2200 Norwegian kroner for a pair of rolling darryl rims. I may just get some carbon 90mm rims from Ali express.

My fat bike seems to be an epic money pit.

  • as it has a straight top tube, light and a flat bar it doesn't really looks it was build for that kind of off road

  • Rubbish wheels and tyres too.

    Sexy frame, needs Sexy shoes.

  • Cheers.
    Great price.

I need offset spoke holes for one rim. I have a customised lefty fork. Which has longer clamps for clearance. This means I need to dish the wheel back to center.

  • I've ordered some Vee Snow shoes. They currently come in 4" and xl 4.8". At least partially designed by a guy up here. So should match conditions.

The first batch came without stud holes and didn't make 4.8" so they rebelled them 4.5"and sold them off cheap.

While I designed my frame with knobbly 4.8" tyres in mind. I think 4.5" will give a nice bit of snow clearance. Plus I have a bag of grip studs. So don't need holes. So when I found some old stock of 4.5" snow shoes on clearance I jumped on them.

  • Still considering 90mm carbon rims.

Might need to sell more of the 29er though.

  • My 4.5" Vee Snow shoes arrived.

Amazingly light, but I'd haven more weight for deeper tread. Still it appears the carbide studs screw in without going through the carcass (just). So while it's going to be a bit more fiddly to stud them up. I think the result will be loads better than the BFLs.

  • Well, 27.5x2.9......and by the time I sit on the fucker it will be.

  • Does anyone have an On One Baby Fatty? The 24" one?

On one are selling the forks off cheap but don't know the a2c!

  • carbon fat bike from german brand vpace. 10.8kg!

  • Was looking at the S-Works fat bike the other day, also pretty light

  • add to wish list

  • Meh. Mines light enough.

I just wish I could decide on trail tyres. So many offerings now. Part of me wants tanwall Nates. Purely because they look badass. Looking badass has to come before roliing resistance surely.

  • We're talking fatbikes here. Fuck rolling resistance.

  • Traction ftw
