I wasn't, I was seeking clarification.
I'm not trying to defend the silliness of football fans en mass, I'm trying to point out that there are distasteful elements to every football crowd. And when you look at two teams with bantz (a word I italicised because it's not bantz is it? it's not friendly and it's not dapper laughs) both sides think the other is worse and has evidence to show the other side as being worse. I'm thinking United (and their distasteful singing about Hillsborough) and Liverpool ("one slippery runway"). I'm thinking Derby and Leicester when I sat next to a fucking potato farming idiot shouting "Nigel, how's your dad?" all game. (it wasn't Mark).
Football comes from a tradition of tribalism, there's something to be said about the behaviour of crowds and riots. Where the crowd ends up displaying behaviour because that's what is assumed of it.We all know that Liverpool FC have a huge tradition of singing and being positive and being the model football fans. However, they also have a tradition of violence, horrible songs, and terrible behaviour.
You can almost certainly replace Liverpool FC with anyone of the 92 league clubs.
Give it a rest with the jokes about height. It's tiresome.
@MultiGrooves well said.
@Chalfie No, its quite clear that he is responding to your comment about football fans in general, not Clive. Don't try and put words in his mouth. You won't reach.
