I can't imagine that BN meant to indicate those by the image, it was probably more 'light brown' conditions that he was concerned about.

The Chingford line looks OK for this weekend, at least for the time being, however, Gospel Oak - Barking is closed.

Tube, Overground, TfL Rail & DLR: Status Updates (for November 7th):

LONDON OVERGROUND: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, no service between Gospel Oak and Barking due to Network Rail bridge works. Replacement buses operate.

It's worth keeping an eye on the TFL status updates if you are planning on taking the Overground - so many times I've got to a station only to find replacement buses in operation and had to cycle there/home! Not the end of the world, but a 10 mile slog home after a full day in the forest can be hard work. :)

Maxxis Beavers are meant to be pretty good. I think @stedlocks was using them for a while?

The Beavers were light, and good in the mud, but seemed very draggy on anything else.....I tried em a couple of time, but they niggled at my picky brain!

No worries! Figured that might be the case, @Dom will be coming from around your neck of the woods so might be worthwhile checking how he's getting there.

I usually ride from Crouch End, to Springfield Park, Coppermill Lane, through Walthamstow to the forest and then up. About 10 miles in total and the last half is very fun.

Nobody offering to accompany me from Palmers Green then :'-(
