Thanks guys, I'll be back on the bike asap. I think the bike's come off fairly well but I only had a limited chance to check it out in the dark and with quite a bit of police activity, questions to be answered etc.
@ M_V, I guess they mean that the toe cap can crush and trap the toes? I wouldn't normally wear steel toe cap and it's hard to single out what they contribute but the damage to them definitely looks enough to have damaged some toes.
