You've gone and upset him now @mdcc_tester!

If I'm only riding then what would you call what you do up and down the A4 all summer?
his sweat keeps the flies off the sandwiches

You've gone and upset him now
He's just pissed because he had to get help from me to get his highest finish in an open event this year :-)

"highest finish"
You're just talking about altitude now aren't you. #hillclimb

I wish. Missed about 4 rides on the H10/2 this year thanks to fly related injuries.

You got some in both eyes and crashed after losing sight of the road?

• #11283
CTT not capable of organising a piss up in a brewery.
The ineptitude.
100mile CR course short by 0.2 mile.
-
• #11284
has this been confirmed other than by a strava segment?
-
• #11285
if so its probably not that relevant apart from if that 24 seconds extra it should have taken RJB would have materially changed the result of the BBAR?
-
• #11286
Remeasured using a CTT approved counter, all times done on the course invalid, so CR should be going to Charles Taylor.
-
• #11287
I'd be fucking livid.
-
• #11288
Lol wut!? For realz?
And the BBAR to tops?
-
• #11289
and therefore by default Tops retains BBAR, that must be a hollow victory despite his heroic efforts to retain the title, as knowing this at the time could and probably would have changed the shape of RJBs season.

That's not down to CTT in its national incarnation, course measurement is a district matter. I assume you'll immediately be volunteering to go and re-measure all the courses in your district, just in case any realignment works by the relevant highway authorities have made material differences to the course lengths since they were last measured.

• #11291
Really?
It's standard to re-measure course after a Comp Record though isn't it? Guess some have come up short before?
-
• #11292
Really?
Yes, according to the 8 pages (and counting) thread on TTF.
Yes, it's normal to re-measure a course as part of the verification process for a competition record claim.
Yes, comp record claims have been disallowed in the past after courses have come up short on remeasurement.

Is there any official response?

• #11294
Is there any official response?
As I understand it, the official distance is 99.8 miles, the record wasn't broken, times from that event don't count for anything and Tops is BBAR again.
-
• #11297
Hardly. I have no interest in running an organisation.
But it is piss poor that this can happen. And still CTT have not released any press release, it's all speculation and hearsay on internet forums.
It's terrible this has happened and how it's manifested.
-
• #11298
And still CTT have not released any press release
When did CTT ever put out any kind of press release about anything, and why should they? There are exactly 39* people in the world who need to know that the result of the Stockton Wheelers 100 for 2015 has been voided. I'm all for reinstating the "Private and Confidential" rubric at the top of start sheets :-)
*or 40 if you think Charles Taylor should be told that it would be worth his while to submit a record claim.

• #11299
Were there only 39 entrants? What about the BBAR shuffle - anyone with a qualifying time from that race will likely shift, which means anyone else in the BBAR list would be interested, yes?
Anyway, I just grumpy as I had a complete meltdown this weekend so instead of my 'icing on the cake' long training ride before the Borrego 24, I quit and decided to get hammered instead. It felt fucking great.
I've decided I'm almost certainly not riding up and down A roads for 12 or 24hrs next year and I'm not doing ANY rides >6hrs unless it's an event or audax or something.

Were there only 39 entrants?
39 finishers, a few more entered but won't be affected by the nullification of the result. Nobody whose BBAR position is affected actually needs to know about the result of the Stockton event, because BBAR position isn't used for any other purpose.
If I'm only riding then what would you call what you do up and down the A4 all summer? Number on back and trying = race.
That was my second highest finish of the 4 National Champs I've 'ridden' this year.
