  • The one of the grandparents? and child is very lovely, very natural warmth to it

  • Yeah my daughter and her grandparents, they absolutely love spending time together!

  • love that melancholic street pigeon :)
also the b&w Tooley Street man walking into shadow

  • I await more of your 30 roll thread bomb.

..this. Some nice shots @99wombats, especially like the beach shot!

all shot on Porta 160 which is rapidly becoming my favorite film for shooting people

..also this. Portra still is king for pictures with skin on it in neutral to warm light. Love all three of them, even the 800 ISO one while definately going grainy still gives lovely tones..

  • Love the tones in the shot of the kid with the messy face rennie - portra is awesome.
Here's a few more from me:

  • Love the 1st and last one. Must be like Christmas getting all these back!

  • @99wombats yeh that first one is perfect.
    National Theatre?

  • First one is so pleasing to look at. Keep the updates coming I'm excited to see more!

  • Don't spose anyone has a decent scanner they would like to sell in London....Ta

  • So, these were consecutive shots. A few from the roll came back with this odd greyed out area and the whole roll had a horizontal line about two thirds up the frame. Any ideas what's going on?? All other rolls came back okay.

  • Horizontal line is likely a scratch on the negative - check the camera's pressure plate hasn't got anything stuck to it. If it's only on one roll might have been during development - bit of grit stuck on a wiper (I don't know how colour dev machines work but it's something you have to watch out for when using a squeegee to dry b&w)
Re the greyed out area, could be finger over the lens or maybe a developing issue again. Unlikely to be camera related (like not advancing the film far enough) as film advance is along the length of the frame not up and down.

  • Just got another 2 rolls back, both shot on my Olympus Pen D3 (half frame) most of the up close shots are out of focus.... I guess I'm just bad at judging short distances! Some ok diptychs which I'll post later.

Also just bought a Minolta Dynax 7 body to replace my 7000i.

  • Few more from me :p

  • I like the last one.

Where are the mountain photo's from?

  • Love the second one of the pegs on the line

  • I like the last one.

    me too

  • these were consecutive shots (...) Any ideas what's going on?

I can only see one picture in your post.
Hard to figure out anything without more pics and more info..
I can't see the greyed out area is a finger in fron of the lens.
This is on more / all images on that film? Other films shot with same camera are ok?
    What camera?
    Etc.

  • Sorry! Didn't realise only 1 had uploaded, here is a dropbox link to the whole roll.

Shot on a Chinon CE-4 using Agfa vista 200 from poundland. This is the only roll to have come back like that, as you can see on the shots of the cathederal the horizontal line is very apparent and also the fact that the greying out isn't a consistent height.

  • Picking up 10 rolls on Monday from Eye Culture from this summer in Turkey. Very, very excited.

  • I got my old EOS 300 back from a friend with 34/36 to take on a roll that must've been about 7yrs old. Hard to break habit of looking for preview screen after each shot. The back got opened twice (duh) but other than that rest of film turned out ok, ignoring composition.

Ended up buying an XP2 (c41 process) and FP4 film for more play. They reckon my old b&w chemicals (9yrs) won't develop the FP4... trufact or just after extra business?

  • tru fact don't chance it! mix up some xtol/pour out some ddx and enjoy it

  • Hmm, strange..
..the horizontal line is from scratched negatives most likely, either from dirt in your camera or the developer's equipment. It happens.
Not sure about the 'greying out' - weird that it happened on one of the rolls only, and on that roll just every now and then..
Pretty sure this has nothing to do with the film, developing or scanning but happened in your camera - so basically an issue with the shutter or mirror, and it indeed looks like the mirror didn't flap out of the way completely in some of the images.
I'd maybe note shutter speeds when shooting the next roll to see if it only happens at certain speeds..
