Sorry dude. Have a nasty sore throat too. I'm staying in bed today
-
• #553
This is why I went round on my own
-
• #554
I felt the same. But Lungs feel so clear now!
Died/ Stitched at 50 minutes myself- not good enough.Happy Birthday @Hovis! You was missed.
From Sunday- I'll be off forum for 4 months or so, have some important professional exams to take, and in November we're launching the company and I'm seconded out to a hospital in Ealing for a bit so I'm balls to the wall for the time being. Should be out pretty much Monday, Wednesday and Thursday every week for November. May have to start a little earlier on Mon/ Wed. See you all in the circles.

Ealing Hospital?

Northwick Park.

Ah ok. I'm sure that's an upgrade over the one in Ealing...

Might have to get my road bike out of the loft and come back to these, I miss the pain train :(
Or I could stick 90" on the winter bike...

It was actually really fun! I could have finished the lap I was dropped on but a RPR guy was sort of in my way and once there was a 10m gap I was done. I would be a super achievement for me to hang with them for even 4-5 laps which is something to aim for. Still, gently proud of myself.
Hearing @T-V analysis confirms my thoughts that @eyebrows was indeed doing big turns and @6pt too was not fucking about. When I was up front I don't think I was helping the cause that much. Such good fun though, going that fast is really fun. But yeah, out of my league

@youramericanlover it was good to have you out! take it a bit easier on your pulls and hide in the group a bit more? 4 people = more (essential) recovery time than 3, innit.
Nice little winter leg warmer, that was. Not the fastest of recent memory but a good effort I thought. See you all again soon :)

to be honest, I was on damage limitation from about lap 2. @eyebrows 's starts/sprints from the turn always kill me.

I hear the magic 24mph was achieved today.
Next week...

Why are you riding in circles when Kent is on your doorstep?
loks at shire lane strava segment and weeps
-
• #567
(misery loves) company, innit.
-
• #568
Also I didn't wear my bibs inside out so this session was 100% more successful in that way.

• #569
Great success!

I think my best ever was 6:04 (fixed, 84"), not sure what that was in terms of speed, but never repeated :(
e: looked it up on strava (ugh) –
103 Tom McEvoy 6:07 26.8mi/h
lols at holding 174bpm for an hour now, can barely hold that on a 10 minute climb. -
• #572
26.8...
I've managed a solitary 1 over 25, ever. -
• #573
1 General Yoda RPR 5:11 31.7mi/h
...

• #574
RPR don't count! a) because of that video and b) because they smash it on/off in large groups.

Bunch riding innit. Amazed they manage to ride so quickly whilst simultaneously tossing each other off.
Hahaha hahaha what the actual fuck. So fast. See you guys when I'm a totally different rider! Still in three laps probably smashed every record I'd set myself previously. Snotty lungs toast, see you all soon, sorry to not be of more help in the group!
