  • I've reached the sad point where all my bikes have to go, so for sale here is my Sun Snipe Plus. This chrome model was produced between 1966 and 1968 only. There's a small bit of surface rust at the bottom bracket section, but apart from that the bike is in fine, clean condition, with the original components, including Sun bolts in various places and a flip-flop rear hub (four-speed freewheel and fixed cog). It hasn't been ridden regularly since the glory days of Georgie Best, so would need a good tune-up. I'm looking for £175 ono for it, but would also take offers on the frameset (I might have a suitable ss/fixed wheelset, if needed). Seattube is 55cm from centre to top.

  • I should also mention that among the other things I'll be looking to get rid of are a 1957 Raleigh Grand Prix with front clanger, an Elswick Sport Anglais de Luxe, a couple of R O Harrison frames and some nice old French stuff.

  • Not for me, but glws. Do you have a Terrot frameset?

  • Lovely bike and a bargain in my eyes. Some of the other stuff sounds wonderful too.

Its a shame that you are getting shot of all of your bikes, but GLWS.

  • that is stunning and it seems a shame to ask what you would like for just the frame

  • It needs to go, so how about £90 for the frame?

  • Also, Viking Hosteller frame - 56cm, with scrappy original paint and decals - early 60s late 50s. Cyclo drop-outs, Viking headbadge and a very nice TDC Italia headset. £50. Photo to follow.

  • Headset - either TDC Italia or Prima which - assuming original - would date the frame to 60/61-ish.

  • Still stuck with the Sun, so am probably clutching at straws, but anyone interested in the 1957/8 Raleigh Lenton Grand Prix mentioned earlier? I'll provide proper details if there's any interest.

  • If the Sun is still for sale please EMail me, I will happily give you 175. Email is dennis@dennisrichards.uk

  • May be interested in one of the RO Harrison's if still available, dependent on size etc. Real shame you have to let all the bikes go.

  • The Sun is provisionally sold to Dennis.

Jeff - here's a photo of one of the RO Harrisons: it was restored, now has a few chips in the paint; just under 58cm centre to top. I was told it's an early one, probably pre-war.

  • Just too big for me, unfortunately. Beautiful frame though. Really like the curve on the lugs.

  • Early Grubb frame/forks available too - Stallard dropouts, original cyclist head badge (London SE20), obviously pre-63 takeover and most likely much earlier than that (ref 5663). Photos show size. I'm not going to build it up anytime soon, so I'd be looking to recoup what it cost to powdercoat the thing.

  • Grubb frame £95 posted - any takers?

  • Hi
I have sent a PM re the GRubb frame
    Thanks

  • I bought the Grubb frame on eBay months ago and the seller had told me it had been lost by the storage company he used, I asked for the contact information as I was willing to chase it down with the storage company but was told to get lost. Obviously it has now been 're-found' miraculously with the same photos used on the auction, but it was never offered to me and interesting it is being advertised above the price I won at auction.

  • Just out of curiosity how much did you win it for?

  • @ conquisador

Well, actually you weren't told to get lost, but as I explained to you at the time - more politely - you were being such a rude and presumptuous arsehole that I wrote the whole thing off. Having asked you to bear with me while I tried to sort things out, you immediately implied that I was dishonest. And you didn't repeatedly ask for contact details, you immediately DEMANDED them. And no, a couple of my frames and a Jack Taylor weren't "miraculously" re-found. I just had to wait until Red Dart sorted out a mix-up. If I'd been able to engage with you cordially, you'd have eventually got the item. Even now - as my anger cooled a long time ago - if you'd pm'ed me here and been polite about it, I would probably have been amenable to whatever you wanted. However, you're basically slandering me again and still acting with an unjustified sense of entitlement. That being the case, I'm glad you didn't get the frame (and no, you didn't buy it, because you, didn't pay for it), so you can do one.

  • £53, which was good even though it wasn't a quality frame but better than a gas pipe Raleigh

I'm not getting into this, we all have an opinion and I feel like I acted patiently. This isn't primary school, GLWS

  • I think that trail is incomplete, but never mind. I feel it confirms what I wrote earlier - that you were impatient and that you were ascribing me with bad faith ( who on earth are you to demand, "give me the name of the company you use"?) . You evidently don't. Where does that get us?
