Just acquired this and I couldn't be more happy. LOOKs are quite uncommon over here in Canada, so when I found this for sale I was allover it.
I'd like to know a bit more about the frame and was hoping you fine folks could shed some light. After a few internet searches I've discovered it's likely a LOOK KG 233 P, but I'm curious about the tubeset and date it was built. I've seen some people saying it's Columbus Nemo or Columbus Brain, but nothing really concrete.
Edit: Weird, it also seems like it may be a KG 253 P. Found photos of frames identical to this one labeled as KG 253 P. Contacted LOOK but they don't seem to be in any rush to respond.
I'd also love to hear your thoughts on building it up. The fork's already drilled, so I'll probably run a front brake + dummy aero lever. Thinking black rims with silver everything else. Black Turbo saddle + black bar tape.

Was just going to email a friend in Dortmund to see if they'd accept postage for me then thankfully realised it's too big for me anyway! (Plus it won't be cheap when the reserve is met)

Anyone replaced the spring in their look keo blade 2s? After a particularly wet gravel ride I managed to pop one of the blades out and get gravel stuck under the other so it doesn't close. Long rough descent with one foot bouncing out was fun.
Anyways is it as simple as unscrewing the back with a little torx driver? -

You can buy replacement blades easy enough, not sure on how to actually do the replacement though. For the first Keo Blades they had a £150 tool to prize it open while you fit the spring.

Hi all,
I recently bought this frame (link below) with a view to building it up this winter.
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/260111/I'm ideally looking to transfer my wheels over from another bike - can anyone tell me whether it would fit a 10 speed cassette/hub etc.?
Thanks

Should be OK, it's probably just about new enough to be certain that it's 130mm OLN rather than 126mm
-

Yep, the seller did say 130mm when I bought it.
However, at first attempt I have struggled to fit my rear wheel in to the drop outs. (It's a pretty basic Mavic CXP 22 on Felt hubs that came on another bike a couple of years back). The front wheel is fine in terms of fit.I wondered whether anyone else had any experience with these frames?

Frame is from 96–97ish, 9 speed era with 130 being fine. I've stuck modern shimano hubs in a similar era KG243 (next one up of the three steel frames they were producing at the time) without problem. I think I've still got a PDF of the catalogue lying around if you're curious about what the world looked like at the time.

How much of a struggle? If in doubt, measure, but it's not that unusual for "130mm" on old frames to be slightly off, so you may have to spring the stays apart a smidge to get the wheel in. In the worst case, you wouldn't be the first person to spring a 126mm frame open to take a 130mm wheel, and few of them died from it.

Thanks, good to know...
As far as I know there should be no reason why a 10 speed shouldn't fit either, then? The width isn't any different...
I will try again - perhaps it just needs a bit of persuasion, though it seems odd that it might.

is this a fair deal?

Or a great deal?

Correct, once things had gone to 130mm OLN for 8-speed, 9- and 10-speed were just a matter of stuffing more sprockets into the same space

Kazunari Watanabe's 6 day rising sun bike was so cool. Looked awesome with the double Araya discs.

This thread has too many nice looks in it.
I think it is unavoidable I need to collect them. I am starting with a 795 Aerolight and will go backwards in time. I really need to find the 675 or was it another model they did in national colours. I think the new bikes are just as interesting as the old ones.
Any ideas on how to fund this.
@mattyc It's a 54 TT and 52 ST. It's really really great to ride this, If I didnt had another frame coming soon, then I'll be keeping it. I'll be an MX leader and it's one of my grail bikes, cant say no to that one hehe.
