me too. I was struggling because they only seemed to want to have red lights on the stage, this shot accidentally caught someone else's flash and lit up the stage. I kinda like it.

Yeah, you can get a used GR for £300. I'm tempted to get one and then stick an EyeFi card in it. I doubt I would use the camera remote much, but the wifi and phone transfer stuff would be useful. I'm just one of those people with nagging thoughts of futureproofing in my head.

I use Toshiba Flash Air wifi card in my wifi-less em5. works great.
The app is really simple, can't see how having built in wifi would make it any easier.

hm, this makes me wonder whether I should save a bit of cash and pick up an rx100 mki rather than the mkii - the wireless was the only reason I was looking at the latter...

Walked in to my local camera place and they were literally unpacking a second hand GR that they scored at an auction... just waiting for them to call me back with a price after they've tested the sensor etc etc.

I'm a fan of the GR. Had mine for a couple of weeks now and I'm liking it, a lot. It feels like I've got a way to go yet before I'm really getting the most out of it; choosing the right focus mode I don't always get right and I want to start programming the presets. Build quality, image quality, pocketability, bloody great!

@Mechamorgan (you probably know this but it's worth saying before you buy)
Be aware there were 4(?) versions of the GRD before the GR and GR II just to fuck with those trying to buy used :) And some of the differences are very real. The (pre CMOS?) f1.8 version was pretty cool. Some are better than others. If in doubt get the latest (the new II) – sounds like you'd like the wifi.

I'm happiest using spot focus, preset iso, use the little wheel for aperture in aperture priority mode. Metering is set to matrix or whatever.
It's the only digital camera I've really warmed to using... but I miss 50mm focal length so badly. I think I might just buy a Nikon D3200 and a DX f1.8 35mm lens... how bad can it be?

That's exactly the set-up i'm using at the moment, and contemplating moving to the GR! I think it's great, love the compact body, love the lens. Just long for the pocketability of something like the GR.

Aye, it's a nightmare right? The camera shop had a GR and a GRD III, and I had to explain to the fella the difference between the GRD, GR (digital), and the GR (film).
They're testing the sensor for dust and issues then they're going to get back to me with a price. I might trade in a bunch of shit and see if I can get the GR, and EyeFi card and an optical viewfinder for it. Really stoked.

Yes. In a shirt (just about) or jacket (easily).
I have a stash of Olympus Mju ii cameras though - which I'm much happier to take downthepub/onthebike/intherain etc so the GR has some competition there.

That's good to hear. How is it to use in manual focus? You can just touch the ring to bring it out of AF I hear... but what kind of focus aid is there (if any) in the VF ?
I'm going to have a play with one on Thursday.

It has an A/M mode, where the camera will AF on half press, but as soon as you touch the ring it'll cut out. Or a full manual focus.
Both modes you get the same little green dot in the bottom left of the VF to indicate focus.

When I saw him play with The Gallows before their first album came out, after a couple of songs he refused to continue to play until someone hit him in the face.

those early Gallows days were the best, shame they went to shit after that first album.
