@Emyr I had the same thing with direct fit. I decided that just bolting through a hole in the guard would be fragile (SKS chromo) so I flattened the bolt tab, then drilled through the flat part of the bracket, and a corresponding hole in the guard. Used a washer against the guard to spread the load
of a domed allen bolt, and a leather or cork washer betwixt the bracket and the boss on the brake bridge.
