I almost forgive them the bar angle, given how good the rest of it is.

Brown hoods and tyres can do one

Also rear light and bottles for 'cross (pedant)

I need help. I'm looking at building a second cx bike for racing, but want to try another single speed (last one was a surly cross check that is currently built up as my commuter) but am on a budget of about 750 euros/500 sterling. I need frame&forks, and wheels, but have most of the other parts. Is there anything out there for around that money that would handle well. Most of the races here are not that muddy, but there are some technical downhill bits. I raced a friends pompino recently and was quite impressed with it.

Any opinions on the gensis day one disc? May have found a second hand one with uprated trp brakes quite local and reasonable to me.

I have a canti Day one, I don't race but can say it handles well, stable at speed and not ridiculously heavy.

I like the fact it's an alu CX singlespeed, should keep the weight down, problem is the cable is on the underside, might bother some people.

weird they put the cable there. Just like it is really weird bombtrack keeps using 55 bb drop on their sscx and cx frames. I mean, is it so hard to not fuck up a well established cx geo?

Well fuck they changed the wheel from cartridge bearing flip flop to loose ball single sided freewheel.
