Hope GXP Converter question

Had my GXP BB for 4 months and it's already creaking like a mofo and I want to replace it.

I'm loathe to replace it with another crappy GXP BB and was thinking of getting a Hope BB and GXP converter, however, just concerned that it might affect my chainline and might be a pain in the arse to install.

Has anyone used the Hope converter and is it worth doing, or should I just stick with the GXP BB?

The Hope GXP converter is a bit of a PITA. It's easy enough to fit, but if you ever want to remove it, in order to remove the seals and clean them up, it's almost impossible to remove due to the fact there's nothing on either half of the adaptor to get any purchase on. I'd stick to a native GXP BB instead.

Removing the adaptor is a pain. Sometimes you can get a screwdriver in between the plastic seal and the adaptor and lever it out. Can't say I do that often, though.

I'm not sure there is anything particularly magic about the hope bb. I like them because you can change the bearings easily and I like all my bbs to be pink.

@Howard I think so, bought the bike as a complete with the omniums so would hope so...

Was just thinking of options, had the BB in for 4 months during the summer and it's creaking already. I'm just wondering how well a new GXP BB is going to cope with the upcoming winter. I've also read that the Hope BB's are pretty good when it comes to weather resistance.
Do the SRAM ceramic BB's cope any better?

GXP BBs should be fine. Unless you've done 12000 miles in the last four months, something is wrong if you've killed it already. If you have done 12,000 miles in the last four months, buy another GXP BB and keep rollin'!
