  • Cheers, will have a dig

  • Might be easier to get an hdmi splitter than use the two ports.

I had issue where the card in one of my laptops would only push out over one port at a time.

  • I have realised that I have got a USB3.0 hub sat in a box so now that pushing out via DVI and using the HDMI port allows me to have two monitors and my laptop screen all working...

  • Hi, sorry for spamming but I've been asked to clear out some old computer stuff from work. I'll post pictures on Saturday but here is an early list. It will be very cheap. The CPUs are in desktop type cases I think but no HDDs. Any interest please PM me

  • What do you mean by CPUs?

  • Anyone want an NEC 20wgx2 glossy monitor for free?

There are some marks on the coating but you cant see them when its on.
    Collection only, Stoke Newington.

  • .

  • The boxes at a guess

    The second are dc5858

  • Not sure yet, haven't seen them. Will confirm.

  • I think that's a reference from before my time

The Princess Bride, 9th October 1987... I wasn't even a year old, and still haven't seen it. Enjoy the lines though.

  • Ah yeah, it all makes sense now.

  • Yeah, it might not have the SATA 3 spec which was released in 2009 but at worst, it will be SATA 2 so you should get 300mbps.

Got the 850 EVO 256GB in the end; Samsung tool benchmarks around 280MB (so basically - as this is the first time I got an OS running on a SSD - this feels very very very fast).
There's a "rapid" mode I see, can't get this activated on Win10 though.

Thanks again everybody for your help!

  • Great! Sounds about right speed-wise for sata 2. Still silly fast.

  • Okay I've had a look at these. The machines have had HDDs removed and some had post-it notes on them saying 'wiped' (they are all ex-govt). Otherwise they appear complete. I powered a couple up and the lights, fan etc come on but make beepy noises so I would suggest thet are spares/repair. Any interest before I stick 'em on ebay?

  • 15 HP and 3 Dell. Printers too...

  • I need some help. I need a new battery for my HP Mini netbook. Specifically this one but I can't find the exact online match in the UK. Do I have to get the same 2.5ah and 28whr setting or can I use a 4.4ah and/or a 26whr battery as I've found a few of them but I don't want to order on the off chance and find they don't work.

  • The 2,5ah and 4.4ah refer to capacity i.e how long they will power the netbook so either can be used.
The 26Whr measurement is also fairly irrelevant. What is relevant is voltage.

  • Ok cheers, will check the voltage. That should makes things a bit easier to find one I think.

  • Any suggestions for a decent monitor?

Will be used for spreadsheets, word, etc for about 10 hours a day. The plan is to have two of them so probably looking at 21" or so. Cheers

  • Iiyama make some decent ones for not much money.

  • I got two Dell Ultrasharp 23" monitors a while back. About £130 each.

Mounted on one of these clamped to the desk: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duronic-Double-Monitor-Bracket-Swivel/dp/B00AV70AEI

Makes working from home so much nicer as I've got much more of the desk available. Can post a pic of setup later.

    Ilyama good too.

  • Do you have two identical monitors? Interested in one of those mounts, but cant work out if you can have each arm at a different height? and my monitors have their mounting points in different places
