If you have high arches, get some orthotic insoles. The regular Vans' insole is definitely lower quality than it used to be (like in the 'Made in the USA' days). Yep, I'm old.
For future comfort, disregard advice pointing you in the direction of the 'lite' models, and stick to the pro models with the Ultracush insole. They're pretty dece for cycling with platform pedals, etc.
I've been wearing them for over 20 years and never had a problem with the sole. (I do a lot of walking when I'm not cycling.)
You could always try putting some Superfeet or similar in them?
