If you or lfgss people have some info for particular frame or the RIHs I shall look up to make it period correct, I will be even more delighted. Cheers and safe riding!

I guess it is one of true RIHs. Look at the pictures, if you can assist to sort it out: apx. year of built from lug work, etc.. My guess is, it is done by master Wim van der Kaaij, not Fongers of Cove. Will do my best to make it all period correct.
I just did 135 km at Eroica 2015 in Gaiole in Cianti and get more exsited by vintage bikes. There is another RIH track puzle I am investigating right now. I know the frameset is another circa, but I decided to come as close as I can to make a RIH track bike to memoriate my uncles win in Word Championship on the track in 1967. At that time he had no choice, but to go under USSR flag. I have some photos with him on the bicycle riding the track in Mehico at 4000 m distance he won. It was track bike build by RIH specialy for him. On the picture as far as I can see the bike is marked as RIH sports. Does RIH have a record of those 63 track bikes they build for World Champions and where the information shall be?

Have a look here http://www.rihsportamsterdam.nl
Kevin Sparrow/The Radavist recently did a piece on the new owner here

You got a very nice bike there @Bikeuser52001 -

@Andyride Don't want to spoil your party, as it's a lovely frame. But this one is build in Austria, by another brand named RIH. My guess they both took inspiration from the Karl May books (rih was a horse, faster than the wind). I can tell by the yellow transfers, and the font being different. You'll probably be able to find some more info online.
The connection of the Amsterdam RIH brand and Russia was established because a former builder (if I recall correctly) his wife was/spoke Russian.
The 63 titles are both world champions (road & track) and olympic titles (road & track) -

@FrankTheTank You cannot spoil the party with truth or knowledge. The RIH pictured is my most emotional aquisition so far. In net I find information on three RIH companies, but most info available on RIH Amsterdam who was producer of pro track and race bikes and the track bikes my uncle win Word Championship on the track in 1967. Actually he did it twice and RIH Amsterdam confirms that at http://www.rihsport.com "History"
You are right concerning the name of RIH, if you do not know all 3 stories, it can be can be confusing. For the RIH Amsterdam: "Founded March 21, 1921 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, by the brothers Joop and Willem Bustraan (the letters GB on the headbadges stand for Gebroeder Bustraan) as Gebr. Bustraan RIH SPORT Rijwielen. They named their bicycles after the black Arabian stallion Rih (=Arabian for wind) featured in the adventure novels written by Karl May (it is not the abbreviation for "Rijwiel Industrie Holland!). RIH was well known from the beginning for their racing bicycles, especially track bicycles. After Joop and Willem passed the business down to Willem's son, also named Willem, they were purchased by manufacturer Cové in 1972. Cové still uses the brand for commuter bicycles whereas the rights for the sport and racing section went over to the business partner Van der Kaaij. Under the name RIH - Sport - Amsterdam are still steel frames built today".Unfortunately mister van der Kaaij passed away late 2014, but not before he was able to share his craftsmanship with Lester Janssen, RIH Sport Amsterdam’s current master builder.
Velobase adds to pay attention: RIH is also the brand of the Austrian bicycle shop Sporthaus Rih Franz Hamedl in Vienna and stands für Radsport International Hamedl!
I came accross beautifull chrome lugged Basso frame (model name is "Fiore de" Loto) made for RIH Vienna, another Guerciotti built for RIH Vienna, but not much information on their own production and workshop, if any. For sure, they were top quality frame and bike resellers.
The third one are RIH Fietsen at rih.nl you can have a look and judge yourself.
Many Russian champs rode RIH Sport track bikes. That's interesting fact and can be partly explained by Russian language knowladge of RIH insider.
If you or somebody can help me with more truth and information on my RIH, or the one like my uncle rode to his World titles in 1967-1969 and/or participated in two Olimpic Games (Tokio and Mehico) as Latvian form Latvia Socialist Republic under USSR flag, Welcome to the Party!

agreed, decal font suggests/consistant austrian rih
-
• #13
here's an example from a quite consistant trader in austria, note font similarity
"The Austrian dealer RIH sold these frames and branded them with their decals. RIH is located in Vienna and has a tradition of more than 80 years. RIH bikes were always expensive and high quality. In the period 1950-1980 they produced their own frames until they started in the early 80s to buy frames from Italian manufacturers and branded them with the RIH company decals." -

I have met the late Menheer V.D. Kaaji a couple of times, and the Jordaanse made frames all had serial numbers stamped into the front, bottom part of the headtube
all other rih were made in the factory -
• #15
@saarf You get it right! That's the particular frame I was looking at and like so much! I asked the seller did he has info on the frame. After the frame ebay add ended he was selling the pista rear wheel I was intereset. Still interested in the frame, wheel and both frames history.
Who are the seller of the frame? Is it you? Still interested in the frame.
I shall ask: What is "in the factory" you refar? There are at least 3 of them today. My frame nymber is 87011 on the bb. What does it mean to some one who knows RIH frames and staff? -
• #16
if your questions refer to me
i am not the seller
the factory i refer to is the main rih factory, the rih brand split after a buy out and the jordaanse atlier was allowed to trade under the name rih sport as far as i know
i met Lester, Menheer V.D Kaaji's protege before he went on to great things as he was selling a rih pista, sadly too small
i think the jordaans rih will apreciate over time
if you have a frame number on bb and given the font, it's pretty much certainly austrian
the rih brand there also sold other brand's frames dressed in their own livery, so may not be a rih per se, given the ebay ad mentioning basso, perhaps that hat is in the ring also
Up for sale RIH Track frame. Bought and build very recently. Unfortunately, vintage steel with vintage parts don't satisfy as modern stuff. Hence the sale.
