That gave me the fear..

Kurt Soge won Rampage:
Highest rated Brit was Brendan Fairclough (from the Surrey Hills no less) in 8th:
Also, Sam Reynolds won best trick for that crazy superman across the canyon gap.
Personally I thought Lecondeguy's run was best. Pink Bike comments are alive with "BRANDON SEMENUK WUZ ROBBED GAIZ."

^ Anything with Red Bull involved is guaranteed to be really shit.
How can Red Bull do this to the best in our sport in good conscience? It's literally costing the Pros money to hurl themselves down the gnarliest mountain Red Bull could find, and they're not covered if they fall.
That's blatant exploitation. Seriously. And it's to point where riders are facing more potential for worse injuries. Riders must bring their own insurance to the event, and are then required to sign a liability waiver freeing Red Bull of any responsibility. -

Raced the Mini Endruo in Forest of Dean over the weekend and came not-last, which was a win in my eyes. Did have an off and smash a brake lever though. Anyone done the opposite and broken a caliper? If so, we should get together and make a working brake...
-
• #7689
And an ultra shit one too
-
• #7690
Not really. I broke just a small part of the lever mechanism. If I had a working Deore/SLX/XT lever I'd happily get more use from this caliper.
Y u no recycle?

Hmm...

I showed the other half the preview vid. It got me thinking... I don't think I could morally justify hosting Rampage - I could not be the person who encourages riders to do that. How could I live with myself if someone died or was seriously hurt?
When I watched the preview headcam ride I thought it was reaching the point where someone was going to end up very badly hurt.

Sorry, I was suggesting that the broken lever and broken calliper could also be mated to form a truly bobbins brake (in addition to the two good parts forming a good brake)
Stupid internet, making me look stupider.

Never mind Rampage heroics/lunacy, even the smallest trail features can cause serious problems:

Ah, gotcha. I'd probably use the good bits.
:)

• #7696
Gah, shouldn't have watched that ahead of solo trip to 'degla tomorrow!
-
• #7697
wow he was out for ages.. he's so chilled when he comes round! joker
-
• #7698
'degla is amazing, some of the most fun I have had on two wheels. The Welsh breakfast from the cafe is amazing as well.
I felt the same watching the video as I am going to Coed y Brenin next week solo.

• #7699
That chap hit a feature somewhat above his abilities.
You'll be fine.

'degla is amazing
Yeah, not been properly for ages, nice to ride. Will see how I cope on SS rigid.
Thinking of stopping by Treuddyn pump track too.
Enjoy CyB.
Is that in Epping Forest?
