• Bought this Rychtarski a couple weeks ago to replace a stolen bike. Then saw someone cycling said cycling bike and managed to get it back. So selling this back on.

Original thread is here, have asked Alb if he'd like it back or knows next person in line, otherwise I'll go by the dibs in original thread and then anyone else that's interested in this thread.

Is in same condition as when I got it, have been riding it to and thro work. Also have put on the SKS chromoplastics Alb provided. Only difference is I really like the saddle so wanna keep it, will reduce price or provide an alternative, whatever buyer prefers.

    Is a gorgeous solid ride.

    £800 SOLD

  • Very tempted.

    Whereabouts are you based?

  • Funnily enough I saw alby at SBC and was on my way home and spotted you on this bike couple of weeks ago on clerkenwell road. Quite sure he wont want it back. Good bike, have a bump.

  • Its at my offices in Farringdon. Welcome to drop by and have a look.

  • I'd love this bike , but I'd need to sell another

  • Could be interested in the wheels!

  • Not willing to split I'm afraid

  • No worries!

  • Then saw someone cycling said cycling bike and managed to get it back.

how did that work out for you? Did you chase them down? I'm intrigued...

  • On my cycle to work in the morning I saw them cycle passed and chased them down. Followed them to their work and then spoke to them. Was a lady who didn't fit the bike at all. Spoke to her, took her number and she locked it up and went to work. I then put my lock on the bike too and went to work myself.

Spoke to the police and they said they'd call me later.

I met the lady again that afternoon and went through emails and lfgss convos for each component on the bike so she knew it was mine. Each component had been bought separately, the oldest being maybe 5 years ago. Showed her police report and video of it being stolen. She accepted it was mine but wanted me to give her money for it.

Was quite clear she knew it was dodgy when she bought it, so didn't feel too bad saying I'd just get the police involved if she didn't give it back to me.

After about an hour or so of calm conversation she gave in and let me take it.

Did feel a little bad not giving her money. Had it been someone that had bought it off eBay etc unbeknowingly, that'd be a different story, I'd offer what they had paid for it after seeing listing etc.

All in all super lucky, to see it 4 months after it was originally stolen. Had lost hope a long time ago. Pretty much all the components the same. Bar the saddle, seatpost and the handlebars [not stem or levers etc]. Was bit miffed by changing the bars as they were in fine nick and were replaced with very similar bars. I did have levers inverted though, with front brake on right, so maybe they needed to anyway...

  • Did feel a little bad not giving her money.

I can't believe she even asked.

  • Pmed yeaterday, waiting on reply

  • Sorry DST, you got lost amongst the hundred emails with subject 'Rychtarski'.

    Have replied.

  • She would've had to have paid a reasonable amount in 'good faith' to have been believed, but it still doesn't overrule anyones rights to reclaim their property and the fact that the person with your property is in possession of stolen goods. You are within your rights to take whatever it might be back, so good work!

  • This is now sold once more
