  • Anyone have any idea if I need planning permission to widen a door way in a dry wall. Not sure if I have asked before. Only widening it a foot. Need to sort out my bike cupboard too.

  • You don't need planning permission for internal changes. You may need building control to sign off the works, if the changes are structural - ie if the doorway is in a supporting wall.

  • And where would I get that? Doubt it's a supporting wall as its drywall and crap. MIght buy lots of plywood this weekend for a cupboard build/fit. Anyone have any experience or resources/tips for such a product? Basically going to be filling an old boiler cupboard with shelving/draws.
