I might try New Vegas, is that a good one? I dont really want to game in W10 but my options are limited... bah.

New Vegas is like the original Fallout 1 and 2.

You don't need to play the previous games to "get" it, but it does help with the reference in New Vegas.

In the sense of not being anything like them?

New Vegas is Fallout 3 set in Nevada, with a cool storyline, and rather more emphasis on the choices you make. I played it before F3 and loved it.
