price seems very reasonable the fork though doesn't seem to be quite right (crown) would you know if the steerer tube has the same number as on the frame also are the front dropouts same brand as the rear? I know this sounds anal but collectors of fine vintage frames like this will ask....

Hi - the forks don't have a number that I can see. Front dropouts are Campag, but there's no name on the rear dropouts. So basically I don't know. I have contacted the Stratton shop with the frame number ( 110480) and I'm waiting to hear back.

rear dropouts are most likely Campag. as they have adjusters so I could be wrong it's just that the fork crown seems too heavy a style to go with the spearpoint Prugnat lugs.....either way I'm sure it'll sell quick at £50.00, if you pop into Strattons speak to Mark (the owner) he's a really helpful bloke

ENDED. Now on Ebay.
Geo.W.Stratton road frame. Stratton cycles still going in Wandsworth, famously founded by Claude Butler.
Seat tube c-c 56cm
Toptube c-c 55cm
I don't know how old the frame is - but the 531 sticker would suggest 1950's. No dents - but the frame shows it's age in chips to the paint etc.. but all the decals are in great condition and overall the frame looks nice.
Cleaned and re-greased the headset and bottom bracket (Sugino) both loose bearings style.
Cash on collection just off East Street, Elephant and Castle. £50
