Doesn't look like it...centre track is for hospitality rather than continental style vibes, although depending on whether you can drink £100 worth of "free" beer it might be good value.

Got tickets for Thursday!

I was! Enjoyable as a whole, though I thought they overdid the music at points and it sucks the atmosphere out when you can't actually hear the crowd over it.

I was there with my GF (in seats right next to Eyebrows as it happened!) and it was great. She'd never been to see bike racing before and had a great time, handily assisted by a father behind us who was explaining to his children how the events worked.
£20 a ticket through Yplan represents exceptional value. We couldn't really hear any of the commentary or interviews from there due to echoing, but what the hell (it was clearer up the top, by the bars). I thought the music worked well during the racing, not so much at other times. The VIP area looked a bit shit. Better to be in the crowd. -

I went, too. You're right that the music didn't allow the crowd to make the atmosphere, maybe they'll make some changes. But the racing was ace, particularly the young GB pair of Germain Burton and Mark Stewart, and Paris-Roubaix winner Niki Terpstra in the Points race.
There were a lot of empty seats, so there's a £20 a ticket offer for the remaining nights.

Going tonight. Anyone know if there is anywhere I can sling a Brompton at the venue?

Cheers, glad I waited, got some tickets for Friday.

I am there on Wednesday.. Got boss over from the states and we have tickets in the middle. Quite looking forward to it. Hope that there are not too many empty seats

It was pretty full last night, but a lot of people inexplicably fucked off during the proceedings. Not really sure why you'd go to a race meet and then bugger off before the main event starts.

Most of the empty seats were in the top tier, around the track there was a decent crowd. It was maybe 2/3 full.
Should be a week of good racing with a lot of good riders including Adam Blythe and Glenn O'Shea, Jesper and Michael Morkov, Iljo Keisse, Niki Terpstra. And a womens omnium featuring Dani King running wed-fri.

#shamelessplug I have tickets near the finish line (G210) for Friday for sale in the classifieds (there are still some crappier 20 quid seats available but suspect they will go fast once people experience it)
-
• #66
Perhaps moving to better seats? I'm going tomorrow and that's my plan if possible

I was there tonight and it was pretty full, so guess it will get busier as the week goes on.

I thought it was quiet tonight - crowd reached a peak at about 2030, and the place got pretty empty after that....I was on the lower tier, and people in the front row were leaving! Oddly, the lights got brighter towards the end, which kinda highlighted the fact that loads of people had left!. The racing however, was great - the riders all put on a really good show. One complaint, where the hell are the frites?! Ok, I know this isn't Belgium, but couldn't we at least have some chips?! Also...I will NEVER pay a fiver for Heineken.

No chips but there was curry :)

Was tuned into Eurosport last night, coverage good, esp. using live camera on Matt Rotherham bike for the sprints.

Is there anywhere to get a meal there? We're there tonight.
Will this be a proper 6, with beer, fags and frites?
