The Freewheel Oktoberfest Craft Beer & Bicycle Festival 17 & 18 October

A perfect weekend for lovers of beer, ales, ciders, food and bicycles

Come and support your local brewers and bicycle specialists on 17 and 18 October at the first ever Freewheel Oktoberfest! The celebrations start at 10am on Saturday and will continue until 11pm on Sunday evening. The weekend is free to attend and will be packed with fun and entertainment for all the family.

The Craft beer industry is flourishing in the UK and artisan brewers from across Kent and further afield will be at the Freewheel offering festival goers an extensive range of unique tasting beers and ales. The weekend will be a great celebration of Kent’s finest local beers, ciders and more. With camping facilities at just £5 a pitch now available the festival organisers hope to attract visitors from across the whole of the South East.

However Oktoberfest isn’t just about food and drink, it is also about bicycles; handmade bicycles, crafted components and accessories as well as unique cycling gifts. The Freewheel’s kitchen will be also be open throughout the weekend serving excellent locally sourced food. In anticipation of the UK’s unpredictable weather, the Freewheels owner Adrian Oliver has also made arrangements for the festival area to be under cover.

You will be able to meet and get advice from local frame builders including the award winning ‘new boy on the block’ Timmy Rowan of Rowan Frameworks from Woodbridge, Caren Hartley of Hartley Cycles in South London and Felix Fried of Shed 6. Freewheel Oktoberfest is the perfect place to find unusual gifts, sample local food and buy unique Christmas presents.

There will also be some great music over the weekend including Big Orange Head, who are a Whitstable-based collective, who perform cover versions with a twist, and always guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

Out of the above list, Judd’s Folly, the Sun Inn, Palace Farm, can accommodate larger parties, otherwise the others are able to accommodate smaller parties.
