Fixie Upgrades

  • Just looking to upgrades pedals and brakes on my fixie. Use it for commuting around uni and considering some messengering too.

Just want some good quality flat pedals.

Also using a front brake and want something a bit more powerful.

  • It might help your enquiries if you tell us what you have an how much you're prepared to pay.

  • Also using a front brake and want something a bit more powerful.

Upgrade your pads and cable rather than the calliper.

SwissStop or Koolstop pads and compressionless cable outer, such as Lifeline from Wiggle.

  • Got foot retention?

This combine with front brakes would make a nice difference.

  • Apologies, maybe up to £40?
Also just riding a Mango Bikes fixie, nothing expensive.

  • Stock pads are pretty shit on those bike, I concur with the other by buying a whole new pads with cartridge insert.

Make sure you clean the rims first.

  • For £40 then you're probably looking at the brake upgrades as suggested by Scilly.Suffolk and some pedals with foot retention.

  • Even just a cheap Aztec one will improved performance drastically.

  • I've got a load of these MKS flats (in black and silver) if your interested

Could also throw in some cages/straps

  • A 105 front brake with some upgraded pads and a decent cable should help.
