Upgrade your pads and cable rather than the calliper.
SwissStop or Koolstop pads and compressionless cable outer, such as Lifeline from Wiggle.

Got foot retention?
This combine with front brakes would make a nice difference.

Stock pads are pretty shit on those bike, I concur with the other by buying a whole new pads with cartridge insert.
Make sure you clean the rims first.

For £40 then you're probably looking at the brake upgrades as suggested by Scilly.Suffolk and some pedals with foot retention.

Even just a cheap Aztec one will improved performance drastically.

A 105 front brake with some upgraded pads and a decent cable should help.
Just looking to upgrades pedals and brakes on my fixie. Use it for commuting around uni and considering some messengering too.
Just want some good quality flat pedals.
