Spoke to them on the phone this morning and did ask them to feature no ladies rather than pretend ladies. This also raises the larger issue of the fact that there ARE ONLY TWO ACTIVE FEMALE PLAYERS IN LONDON RIGHT NOW

I am available and I can do this on my polo bike if they want me. I don't think I have ever ridden a fixie. In fact I have never seen anyone play bike polo on a fixie.

I ride fixed but I don't play polo. Anyway, the advertising business is not obliged to use active real people. It's like a movie. They edit and cut and make anyone look awesome. Show me the money! (Kidding, I'm working tomorrow)

Ha - so if I do this then I might actually look like a competent player!

Jackie - you are a woman and a polo player. I would rather see you do this (if you want to) than someone who is not a polo player. Even better I would rather see you at polo. She's only asking for fixies cos she doesn't realise that polo isn't played on them I think.

Also Io; come back to polo.

Polo should come back to me.
(Summers are always busy. So possibly winter frozen slow play)

I didnt mean this. I meant that an advertising company doesn't really care if it's "pretend" or not. They have something in their mind and want to create it so contacting to say don't feature any women in your advert because there are just two active women in London is somewhat bizarre. If they want to make an advert they ll make it with either girls from the fixed/cycling scene and editing or girls from elsewhere than London. Anyway the boys have featured in adverts so if the company is not totally unethical and shit then a good chance for women visibility in sports/games. (Whether there are two or two hundred active players in a scene) .

You could turn up on your 'non fixie' and just keep pedalling the camera doesn't know, you know?
Just got this email:
Hi I undertand you guys are a retail outlet, but just in case you know of someone - we are doing a promotion shoot for Lee Cooper tomorrow (15th October) in East London and were wondering if you might know of 2 ladies available to participate from 1pm-10pm?
They will need to be able to ride fixies (if they have their own please bring it!) and will be participating in a simulated bike polo match for cameras. They will also be required to wear Lee Cooper clothing which we have only been given in a small selection of sizes, so we will need two who have a slim/athletic build.
I understand this is really short notice, but they will be paid £200 for their time!
Please let me know if you think anyone might be interested and get them to email me or phone me on 020 3040 XXXX
(msg me for phone number)
Many Thanks,
Toby
Message me if you want the contact deets.
