  • Not exactly sure how "I paid cash to a guy in a market, didn't get his name" checks out, if they got something more so can go searching some other guy then I guess that's good. Police are far too ready to close cases and not investigate bike theft in the slightest, it's why it's so common in london, if they made it just that bit more awkward when people get caught or even involved in stolen bikes then it wouldn't be as common "I got a stolen bike, lost my money for it and police had a look around my house, fuck doing that again"

  • Definitely agree, they're far too eager to close cases.. but in their defense they did check for fingerprints but none were exploitable. His record's clean and on top of that, he had put up all his real data (address, phone number, email), so really not one of the usual suspects..

    By the way, the detective who dealt with the whole thing, did said that luckily I handed him the case down in a plate, otherwise they'll probably would've taken ages to manage to do anything in time (I had screenshots of the ad, real pics of the bike before it was stolen, invoices and copies of the original complaint)..
