  • The girlfriend has it too, maybe we're both pregnant.

@Hefty I did that Friday and felt really dizzy, may pop on the bike later see how I get on.

  • Protect that ass.

There is wisdom in these words.

  • loving the bright autumn mornings, crisp and sunny, and not a cloud to mar the blue sky...
    would do again..

  • @skidlidsid Larkhall is OK if you use it before 8, after that its a bit ratty, but not too bad.

The bits of R3 to watch out for imo are the 'essess' as Bolney Street turns into Dorset Road and then Meadow Road. You have the right of way if your traveling along Boleny to Meadow, but not all drivers and cyclists acknowledge/know it. The cross roads of Meadow and Fentiman a bit further up needs to be watched too, as drivers take chances jumping across it.

Having said that I much preferred using it to CS7 on my old commute.

  • Loving the ride, surely some revelation is at hand.

    Make a wish!

Virtuous is the piggy back I ride, what sorrow do I feel for the naked fish, a fact no mortal could abide.

I'm sailing here without a moose, then eat and eat…

  • Classic marcom

  • I've been using brick lane as a little diversion from the gridlocked commercial st, at half 7 in the morning it is normally completely empty. quite nice to have a little sprint up there to warm up on these cold mornings

  • @Clockwise @edscoble @Ecobeard Thanks guys. Might try it out tonight/tomorrow. It does add 3km to a 9km journey, but potentially worth it if I can avoid the CS7.

  • She's not actually pregnant, at least... no, not thinking about it.

Interesting read, reminded me of Menstrual_synchrony.

  • Anyone used London Cycle Network Route 3 as an alternative to the CS7? What's it like?

Might try a bit of it out as CS7 is just a nightmare ATM

  • What's up with CS7 currently? Upgrade work?

  • It pipes the despair of Clapham into the heart of London like an artery pumping poison

  • Massive Stockwellfuck. I now divert via Wandsworth Bridge and CS9. Much better route if one lives SW of Balham.

  • It's CS7, when was it not a nightmare?

  • Gotcha.

  • Bit crisp this morning, frost on the ground so it's almost time for long finger gloves.

It's quite normal to encounter cows on my commute, normally I give them plenty of space and slow down and talk to them to let them know I'm no threat. Today I had to move a small herd out of the way to get over a style as there was no other way around, which added a bit of interest to my morning. So I ditched the bike and approached slowly and as close to the hedge as I could to leave them space to pass, kept talking, worked my way slowly forward and the mothers and calfs all filed out without incident, just one heavily pregnant cow to go and she did not want to move. She'd backed right into the corner so I edged around nice and slow to ease her around and away from the style. Went back for the bike and continued on my way. The thought of being trampled by an enraged mother-to-be did cross my mind!

    Would herd again.

  • You and I have very different commutes.

  • Just thinking the same thing. Although learning how to herd white vans out of the way would be cool...

  • Not that dissimilar to mine when I drop into the Gregs on Holoway Road for a bacon butty.

  • The advantages of living in Not-London!

  • The thought of being trampled by an enraged mother-to-be did cross my mind!

Yes, I see what you mean.

  • Today I had to move a small herd out of the way to get over a style

Can't you ever go anywhere without imposing your style on others?

  • Cut onto Mackenzie rd and @mands can supply breakfast food.

  • Ah, is that where the new gaff is? I'll be passing at around 8.30, I prefer brown rather than red sauce and don't toast the bread.
