That reminds me, I have one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Joby-3-Way-Camera-Strap-DSLR/dp/B0096JZR9K/ that I bought when they were cheap. I don't like it at all, find the block too big on the bottom.
If anyone wants it, let me know and I'll stick it in the post.

I'm moving from iOS to Android and so ditching a lot of the apple specific services I use, including iCloud storage. This means the Apple Photos isn't the only integrated solution for backing up my photos anymore *. How do other folks ensure that their photos are safe and available on as many devices as possible?
* photos = over a decade of JPEGs, raw files and negatives canned as TIFs.

Personally I export my pictures to Flickr for viewing remotely.
I also export from Lightroom to another drive as a backup (this is actually a drive on a server but I guess an external drive would do as well). This is synced with Onedrive so I can also access pictures on there.
I also backup my lightroom catalogue and the original RAWs to the server drive. This is also backed up to onedrive.
I use http://www.freefilesync.org/ for mirroring folders. I sue Onedrive as I need Office and for £60 a year you get Office plus unlimited ondrive storage (or it may be limited to 1TB on the current deal).

RX100 III is defintely worth going for, despite it's smaller sensor, it's an extremely capable camera.

The 35mm f1.8 prime is a nice lens for this camera. Good quality but small and lightweight which makes the camera pretty portable.

Annoying myself because I find myself in these places thinking "oh, a real camera would be amazing right now"
Think I'm just gonna pull the trigger next payday. rx100.

If you can do that with your phone then I would save your money. Reminds me of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Hill_(painter)

Thanks!
The fact that the crud fine detail of the image is reminiscent of a painting says a lot, though. This one turned out okay but so many potentially good shots ruined by inability to process light properly or to capture details...or focus properly, or snap quickly enough, or low battery, etc, etc, etc.
I can't work out how to share the url for a google image search, but reverse image search for the image reveals it's been used hundreds of times... oops.
