  • clangs in the lever on release. Any clues?

Do you mean that if you squeeze the brake on then let the lever go it pings back with a lot of force?

If so, brake springs in the right hole?

I tried Vs on my Pomp but didn't like them at ll. Think a combination of the rim being too narrow and the brake mounts being a bit unevenly spaced.

    Cantis work a lot better.

  • Nah I mean there's a rattle when it releases. The front one is fine it's just the rear. It feels like a lever/cable problem more than a brake one, but will investigate further tomorrow.

I wonder whether it's my routing after the cable leaves the rearmost guide.

  • Ah ok, in that case, brake springs in the right hole? ;)

Cable routing at the rear with a V should be a doddle. Did you cut the outer cables? Use anything to ensure the end was nice and open and free? I have a set of Bikehut cable cutters that have gone blunt now but I keep them around as they have a fold out spike that's good for opening up the end of outer, pushing back the wee tang of metal you sometimes get.
