Cheers man!
Okay, I think my next move is to get a new wheel set for the triple triangle. My mate has said he'd build them for me. For the rims I'm going for TB14's in either black or ano grey, I'm leaning more to the grey. Spokes will be silver, I'm leaving these for my mate to choose. For the hubs I have a couple of choices:
1 ) Buy a front Suzue pro max hub and take apart my rear wheel to get the hub from that. I'm having some trouble finding a front Suzue hub though, hubjub have then for £30 but are sold out, I've sent them an email asking if they will get any more in stock.
2 ) Buy a hub set to build onto. I can get a pair of DA 7600 hubs from Phil the power Taylor for £90 shipped. I am going to ask about marking the values drop to avoid import tax. This would mean that I can make some money back by selling my Suzue rear.
Any other suggestions for hubs are welcome. I want something nice though, and the DA hubs are rather nice. If I can't find a Suzue hub in the next couple of days I'll probably go ahead on the 7600's.

Forget all of that, just bought something nice from the classifieds instead...

Quick update, managed to get a bargain wheelset on eBay.
Rear hub is Miche Primato, front is unbranded high flange. Don't know what the rims are but they are heavy. Also came with the matching Miche Primato front hub and a rear shimano Deore road wheel. All for £30! Couldn't believe it when I saw it, snapped it up straight away. Thank god for 3am ebaying!
Looks so good with black wheels.

Here are some better pics of the triple triangle with the drop bars. A bit of bad news, I accidentally trashed the threads on my pro chrome stem on my riser setup. Got a Cinelli 1A stem lined up which I will be collecting tomorrow, will be temporary until I get something similar to the pro chrome.
New wheels are being shipped on Monday. Won't give away what they are yet but they are very nice!

Your bikes are awesome. I have a 110 pro chrome minus the plug (because I got it stuck in my mates rat bike when we were "mock building") that I can donate to the Niel Orrell cause if that helps?
-
• #35
Cheers mate! When you say plug do mean the wedge that is at the bottom of the quill? Because that is what I fucked up on mine. I basically shredded the threads on the inside of it so it it no longer tightens.
I could use the stem if I got a replacement wedge but the pro chromes appear to have a smaller thread then most stems.

If you do manage to sort out the pro chrome, feel free to pass on the Cinelli from Richooo - had my eye on that ;) Depending on the bolt and whether it is replace-able, you could always just re-thread yours to a larger size (Most tap sets run up to at least M8 threads...)
Great looking twin project by the way! gotta love a triple triangle -

Will let you know if I get something to replace it! Got my eyes out for one of those Nitto welded quill stems at the moment. This 140mm stem is stupidly long and stupidly good though

Fitted some race blades on the commuter, riding in the wet was a piece of cake. Nice and dry with no massive mud stains up my back. I'm calling it done for now. Not much more I want to change currently. Should last me throughout winter.
Last thing I will do is coat the stem so it doesn't rust. And I have something very fun to do it with.

Beware those Raceblade attachments will eat away the paint if you zip tie them to the frame without protecting the tubes. Don't know how much you care about that, but they don't leave 'pretty' scars. Or might be because my Colossi had shitty paint!
OT: Sweet wheels! Nice hubs of course. What are the rims?
-
• #41
Thanks for the advice, will probably leave as is for now. The paint isn't original and is already covered in touch ups. Planning to get it painted in the future so I'm not really bothered.
They are! I can really feel the difference in weight when I ride, feels great. Got them at a good price too. The rims are black tb14's

1st Dibs on the wheelset if ever to sell!

Sure thing mate, that's if I ever sell! Such nice wheels

For the love of god. Clean the white triple triangle.
Put some clipless pedals on. -
• #45
I did! It is clean(ish)
Not going to lie, I'm too scared to go clip less, I dislike the thought of having to change shoes everywhere I go.. And I'm yet to find a pair of casual clipless shoes I like

Quick update:
Got a few new parts. Flite saddle, another pro chrome and some nitto 260 risers. All good except the risers which have been cut too narrow, also the angle of them is a little weird, will be replaced with a pair of Easton ones that I have waiting at home.
Once the bars are sorted I'm calling this bike finished. Nothing more I would change. Here's a shitty pic for now, will take some nice ones in the next couple of days.

Those wheels are so fine. Love the low profile rims in combination with the high flange hubs.
Also saddle is a big improvement (aesthetic wise); I've always found Turbos a bit bulky.
Once the bars are sorted I'm calling this bike finished.
I had a good chuckle over that one!

The wheels are great, one of my best purchases. I agree on the saddle, still like my turbo but I get what you mean. Really want to get my hands on a turbo lite but I've never seen one for sale.
Yeah yeah, I'd have to find something really good to swap for the parts already on there though! What I really mean is that I can start a new project now :-) Looking for a track lo pro if anyone has one
