I find the surly geometry to be fine. I have a modest spacer stack, a 90mm stem and a setback post, and my crosscheck fits great.

In terms of reach changing between sizes, or not, I'm not fully convinced that there's an issue with their approach. They produce a bunch of different frames. The trick is to select one that allows you to create your ideal position, no? So what if the 'sizes' don't increment in a given way - its more relevant to identify a body type/ fit preference that isn't catered for, then check if its actually common in the population.
