Tarck bike with big tyre up front just for lulz doesn't make it functional
-
• #10580
I dunno. Functional bike for riding on autumnal slippy leaved roads maybe.
But broadly I'm with you. -

Makes commuting through wimbledon common much easier and much more fun. That not enough? Brakes not needed given its all flat and empty of pedestrians/cars

Being less-shit-than-previously isn't great.
You should get a precursa, they're popular for grasstrack.

And not be able to run anything bigger than 25c. How would that help?
-

You can fit vittoria XN (and probably clement LAS, etc) type cross tyres. You'd need to ask for the road fork though.
It'd help because those tyres are ideal for riding across a field :]

The rear have more clearance due to the fact it's a track end, so 35mm is actually within the realm of possibility, I know for a fact 32mm fit quite nicely with the original road fork that come with it.

Commuting through wimbledon common.
As for this, since the common have some section that it's almost unrideable in winter time due to the horse track, the Charge Plug 1 2016 seemed quite apt for this with 42mm as standard.

This isnt HoKe's track thread. Im not getting a precursa
The fat tyre was just for fun while i wait to get the og fork back. Then i can run 28s f and r.
Speaking of which, which winter tyre has the best grip and puncture protection? (For the front) Rear will be gatorhardshell. Im not fussed about weight supple etc

Soma Wolverine looks good

Bitch to get hold of in UK! I tried, didn't help there was a dock strike in murica.

• #10595
Yeah, very tricky and maybe a little pricey? I like Soma and I know it has sliders and stuff but as with Surly, the geo is way out of whack. Stupid tiny head tubes and long top tubes. But it is incredibly FBNPNA.
-
• #10596
Why do Surly make their HT so small?
-

I'm sure you know my feels about this. In a sentence: this geo works for everyone (except tarts allergic to spacers) and (unlike nodderspec headtubes) allow those of us with functional spines (not porn, not anti) to get low enough.
tl:dr suck my balls the geo is great.

See above.

• #10599
Actually the main issues isn't that.
It's the fact the geometry aren't consistent in the sizing.
An example with the Crosscheck;
- 42cm and 46cm have near identical reach.
- 50cm and 52cm is only 6mm difference in reach.
All the above have the exact same head tube length (91mm)
The 56cm is a tiny bit shorter than the 54cm despite having a taller headtube.
- 42cm and 46cm have near identical reach.

Oh they do, I got some stuff from them, be wary of customs.
