Yeah, I am a bit sad at that tbh.....although I could never have both! I'm made up with my final choice though, and I think I have read everything that has been written about it on the webz!
The stache should come in at about 25lbs, according to some dude in the comments section (don't read the comments!) on the evans website, but even if it's a bit over, going tubeless straight off should sort a fair bit of that. I'm no weight weenie, as you know, but I have this barrier of 30lbs in my little OCD head!
Update....
After a last minute change of plan/heart, and reading that the Marin was nearly 32lbs as standard, I have managed to track down a shop that will take my voucher and obtain a trek stache 5 in my size ......boom, trigger pulled :0)
Ever since I saw the krampus in 2012, I have wanted/been trying to justify a 29+ rigid bike, and no matter what the industry is telling me with all this 650+ stuff, for now, this is an itch that needs scratching! And scratch the bugger I will! I pick it up around the 8th of November, all being well, and will give it a jolly good seeing to over the course of the following 4 days!
@BareNecessities I tried to get the 7th off work to pick this up and get down to epping for its maiden voyage, but there is no chance :0(... Next time though, and I'll have it dialled in by then :0)
Very happy!
