Squealing brakes

Any cures for squealing V brakes? just changed the pads and the fronts are very noisy.

I also have this problem with some tektro canti's. Tried toeing them in silly amounts as well as changing to koolstop salmon pads. Cleaning the rim with alcohol helps a little but long term doesn't seem to make a real difference.

Try de-greasing your rims with methylated spirits.

:) I clean my rims with a rag cloth soaked in gasoline. After a slight rub, my 10yo centaur brakes pretty much tear out the spokes from the hub. And use very soft compound rubber on those clean rims, adjust the pads that they make a nice contact with the brake track.
