Thanks, I have seem those. They look nice but as you say are a bit pricey when compared to bar ends. I stuck some bar ends on, having never used them before, and was surprised how easy they were to get used to. The only downside is shifting while climbing is more awkward. I suspect the Gevenalle shifters are harder to use in the drops.
If you feel like being spendy, then grenvelle / retroshift look effective.
