  • That location is 2 hours from my town. Never heard of them though

  • Ha, well that a big 'HELL NO!!' than.

On other news, I was talking to mate who I trying to keep an eye out if a small BMC track frame/bike I lying around in the warehouse. Though he did find a large and he said 'fit I could stretch and fit it...' my response was 'I'd be luck if I get my leg over it'

    #MidgitProbelms

He said there will be new stock coming in around November time. So I really have a choice to get the Hoy or TR02 to spin around on or wait and get the TR01.

Anyways hopefully something will pop up and I can get back to the track and possibly the winter track league soon at LVV =)

  • Buy cheap Dolan, get back on track, and get rid of it when it become available.

  • excuses excuses excuses. if you really would love to ride on track again you wouldn't wait ages for some expensive frames. build up your muscles and techniques first with whatever frame

  • Buy a Dolan and get some nice wheels, and finishing kit/ cranks of choice. I don't see why you wouldn't at this stage. Track bike are simple to build :)

  • My last excuse would be that I will have to wait for my results of my Part 3. (This will determined if I'm allowed to back on the track).

But I've been thinking about my fitness too, although mentally I believe I am still fast, what I've put my body through for the past year (mainly with the lack of exercise and junk food during my year back at uni). I think joining a gym or even cross-fit to get the core and leg strength back into the system during the winter.

Deep down I really want to get the TR01 (I know I will probably end up getting it tbh).

  • This is true, but you know what of a 'tart' I am with bling rich! ;)

Anyways as I state, it all rest with the result of my Part 3 whether I am allowed to be back on the track, (or back on the books...again) =/

  • I know, but I can't get my head around the idea of getting a bike for the sake of getting a bike. That's never been my style.

It's that old saying I guess 'It's all or nothing!'

  • Classic LFGSS, either try and get someone to spend way more than their budget or convince them to just get a Pre Cursa.

  • @HoKe for what it's worth I have had a Hoy for the two seasons I've ridden track now and it's fine.

Mine is the .001 (the .002 wasn't available at the time) with a set of wheels built on DA hubs. I've ridden from C-cat to A-cat and two Irish national IP and scratch championships on it, and it's not the reason I haven't won (I came 9th this year and 10th last year).

The only change I intend to make for the 2016 season is a fancy set of wheels (at last).

I think it's a cool looking bike, branding is quite understated and the track lines on the TT and finishing kit are a cool touch. I'm 85kgs and it's plenty stiff for me.

  • or convince them to just get a DF4.

    FTFY.

(TBF Precursa is excellent and cheap enough for training and to get rid off later).

  • I really like that hoy track bike.

  • Yeah, they look really good with the 7600/Open Pro CD wheelset. You can tell Hoy had a say in where the money was spent.

  • Enough with the sensibleness in this thread.

    L96 or GTFO >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • So after 10 years of struggle...and many broken hearts (and frames)

    drum roll

Ladies and gents, let me present Ho Ke, chartered RIBA Architect. (also sometimes a fixie skidder)

@umop3pisdn will be hunting a tarck biek soon! ;)

  • Wahey, congrats mate!

  • amazing stuff, congrats.

Get the frame you WANT now without an ounce of sensibility.

  • Cheers mate! hokey spokey will soon be back! (or as @Sumo used to say just ride along old street to get a million spots)

  • Thanks Amey, hopefully it has been worth it!

Been talking to a few of the mates at Evans and they'll hopefully restock the TR01 in November (unless something nicer comes along of course)

  • Talbot? ;)

  • #Spam

Will look into that actually, might pop down and finally talk to Matt and dammit of possible options.

    Definitely worth looking into.

In that cause, time to get a Precursa while you wait.
