  • Why not get Hed Jet Black? Proper alu brake surface, really not sure how much difference they can make to a carbon brake surface, surely pads play an important role?

  • I'd like to see a wheel maker address the TT market, but all these fat and blunt shapes seem to be prioritising crosswind handling and high-yaw drag for IM riders (naturally, as that's where the money is) rather than producing a 'float day' wheel optimised for minimum drag at low yaw and to hell with windy days.

    Obvs., but could it be improved? It's a 30 year old wheel.

    Is the HED3 Deep too 'filled in' for CTT rules?

  • Gt3 is tub only, though they are developing a clincher version.

    Hed3 Deep is better at zero/low yaw, but it's CTT illegal.

    My braking is better on the HED Stinger 4's than it is on the Flo30's, Black Prince and Green respectively.

    I've still got those Black Prince in a draw at work for you btw.

  • I have none of these things. All I know is that Zipp FC with Zipp pads offer shitter braking than almost any alu rim I've ever used.

  • Zipp pads are not very good. Black Princes ones are better IME. Still worse than ali though, especially in the wet.

  • Let me know how much faster they are than what you use now. I expect minutes off 10 times left, right and centre with these..
